Pakistani Fashion Designer Deepak Perwani is the undisputed fashion icon of the country. He was born in 1973 in Belochistan. He started showing his talent at the age of 20 after passing only three months in the fashion world. In 1994 Deepak Perwani brought about a revolutionary change in Pakinstani men’s wear with his first ever collection of Sherwani and occupied the position of a top Fashion Designer. He also got positive response with his women’s collection in 1996. Thus, with a successful beginning he started his journey in the fashion industry.
Deepak Perwani’s designs cover a wide range of variation. Along with following traditional trends, he uses unusual fusion of eastern and western conceptions in his wears both for men and women. From Lawn collection, embroidered Kurta, and Sarees, Perwani has collections of Bridal wears as well as Formal wears and accessories for women. He created a record in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ for designing “The World’s largest Kurta” of 101 feet tall and 59 feet 3 inches wide in 2007.
Deepak did the launch show of ABN Amro Bank in Pakistan and after that he worked with Mercedes Benz, Benson & Hedges, Hugo Boss perfume and some other brands. He did the Castle India Men’s Fashion Week (CIMFF) and was quoted as the pride of Pakistan by the TIMES of India. In the same year he represented Pakistan at the first ever Islamic Fashion Week in Malaysia and later in Dubai. He has achieved the prestigious Lux Style Award for Best Fashion Designer more than onece.
At the age of 23 Deepak Perwani was chosen the brand ambassador for the World Gold Council and later for Dupont Lycra. At 28 he was chosen on to the board of governors of the Pakistan school of fashion design (P.S.F.D). As a top Pakistani Fashion Designer
he has been chosen as Pakistan’s Cultural Ambassador to China and Malaysia. Deepak now runs his own boutique and fashion in Pakistan.
